An association professional experienced in cause marketing and public relations, Steve Drake is president of SCD Group Inc., a consulting company focused on strategy, content, cause and discovery.

He is currently focused on cause marketing, bridging the generations presentations and facilitating strategic planning.

As president and owner of Drake& Company (1992-2011), Drake and his staff successfully created and implemented the Trees for Troops cause-marketing program for the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation and FedEx which provided has provided more than 17,000 military families a free farm-grown Christmas tree.

The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) awarded us its Summit Award for the Trees for Troops program of the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation. In 1994, he received both the Silver Anvil and ARC's Founders Award for my work on The Monsanto Company's Rural Flood Relief efforts.

Drake has presented his research-based presentation/discussion on “Bridging the Generations” to the Turf & Ornamental Communicators Association (TOCA), the Finishing Contractors Association (FCA), Syngenta’s sales staff, the Finishing Industry Forum of the Labor Management Cooperation Initiative (LMCI), The Drake Forum for Association Leaders and more.

In addition, he is past president of the AMC Institute and a 30-year member of ASAE. He served as a national director of the The Ohio State University Alumni Association. And, recently joined the board of Businesspersons Between Jobs.

Drake's public relations career spans 29 years in higher education and associations. Before starting Drake & Company company, he served as deputy chief executive for a $46 million not-for-profit organization with membership, research and promotion operations in 12 countries, 30 states and Washington, D.C.

Drake has taught communications courses at Washington University in St. Louis and public relations and journalism courses at Ohio State University, Clarke College and Albion College.
